It’s Iimi! Should We Say That the Gates of Hell Prevailed?

With most of Iimi’s family visiting her grandparents (see Issues #222, 227, 275, 279 for why Iimi isn’t with them), Iimi enjoys her freedom as a recent graduate. But when Andrea Feday, with family in tow, enters the same restaurant, Iimi reluctantly finds herself in another debate. To Andie, accepting the Protestant view is just common sense. But to Iimi, that view brings up the question… Should We Say the Gates of Hell Prevailed?

Post-Comic Notes: The kanji on the left of the Chapter 3 banner carries the following meaning: 転進 (Tenshin) means “turn around and advance.” It’s a euphemism used by the Imperial Japanese military during WWII for the kanji on the right: 退却 (Taikyaku), meaning “retreat.” Taken literally, 転進 can also mean “turn and advance.” You can decide which meaning applies to which character

I won’t identify the apologist whose book offended Anthony. Only that the person did say that about Pope Francis, and it marred an otherwise good book. I believe the apologist misunderstood Pope Francis, and Anthony’s scandalized reaction was entirely reasonable.

If we, who are Catholic, will not lead by example when it comes to obedience, how do we expect non-Catholics to join us?

AI Disclaimer

I used AI to generate covers and background scenery for Issues 184-277. I still use it to create logos, doodles, and symbols, simply because there are no non-AI logo-creation programs (suggestions are welcome). Some previously used images have been kept for consistency (iconic buildings and “historic photographs”) with the intent of replacing them when possible. Any other appearance of AI means the stock art seller I purchased from misrepresented their product.
