Paula is finally beginning college at Santford University. But as orientation begins on Tuesday, Iimi and Krysta (already a month into classes) won’t be there. This means only Carl, Thea, and Chela remain in Babylon, so the Iscra family is spending the last weekend together in Redwood City, with Krysta and Teiynah along for the ride. Post-Comic
Notes:
Notes
on Cantonese language usage. Properly, Jyutping has tone numbers after each
syllable showing the proper tone. However, because that can make it hard to
read (In a comic font, is that a 6 or a G?), I plan to remove the tone numbers
except for footnotes or when tones are immediately relevant to
the story.
On
page 27, when the note says “traditional hanzi,” that should be understood as
compared to the simplified hanzi, not “traditionalism vs.
modernism.” Hong Kong (Cantonese) and Taiwan (Mandarin) both use traditional
hanzi. The People’s Republic of China uses simplified hanzi.

AI
Disclaimer
Regrettably, I used AI to generate covers and
background scenery for Issues 184-277. I still use it to create logos, doodles,
and symbols, simply because there are no non-AI logo-creation programs
(suggestions are welcome). I kept some previously used AI images for
consistency (iconic buildings and “historic photographs”), with the intent of
replacing them when possible. Any other appearance of AI means the stock art
seller I purchased from misrepresented their product.
In
this issue, the AI (コーPilot) answer on “Green
Badger CIA” was taken from AI because I wanted a clunky, machine-written
answer. Without “CIA, you get some innocuous answers. But since Iimi already reasoned
out Carl had been in the CIA (Issue 319), she knew to add that.
