It’s Iimi! The Road Trip

It’s time to drive to the San Francisco Airport to pick up Della inbound from Puerto Rico. Iimi finds herself and her EV under scrutiny as they go. How will they handle… The Road Trip

Pre-Comic Notes:
Rejected titles included “The Road Worrier” and “The Road to San Francisco.”

Post-Comic Notes:
I’ve decided I dislike road trip comics just as much as I do fight scenes. Too much asset manipulation.

AI Disclaimer
I discontinued using AI for covers and background scenery after Issue 277. I still use it to create logos, doodles, and symbols, simply because there are no non-AI logo-creation programs (suggestions are welcome). Some previously used images have been kept for consistency (iconic buildings and “historic photographs”) with the intent of replacing them when possible. Any other appearance of AI means the stock art seller I purchased from misrepresented their product.

It’s Iimi! Adulting

After a trip to Sacramento, Iimi is no longer a pedestrian. But different approaches mean learning to handle new situations and norms. It goes beyond driving. At 18, Iimi and her friends are no longer “kids.” It’s time to learn the lessons of… Adulting

Post-Comic Notes:
This comic was scripted in mid-April. I had no idea whether the war would be over or if the government would still be taking verbal potshots at the Pope. So, I needed to phrase the dialogue so that it remained vague about whether the fighting (both kinds) was still ongoing.

The EV ranges used in this comic came from ABRP. Iimi’s vehicle is based on a real one (including the 22-kW type 2 charging port). The sole exception is the solar panel. While some EVs do have solar (Toyota, Hyundai), this one didn’t.

It’s Iimi! What’s THAT Supposed to Mean?

When people speak, words have meanings for them, though not necessarily the meanings they intend to convey. When people listen, the words also have meanings, but not necessarily the same ones that the speaker intended. As a result, we find ourselves asking… What’s THAT Supposed to Mean?

Post-Comic Notes:
You can learn about the Đắk Sơn massacre, mentioned in the comic, here.
