This was probably the closest I’ve come to missing a self-imposed deadline. Now that I’m eliminating AI backgrounds, it’s taking longer to finish a comic. Don’t be surprised if I miss a deadline in the future.

I made an error in the comic by saying that Puerto Rico was four hours ahead of California. That’s sometimes true. Puerto Rico runs on Atlantic Standard Time year round which is four hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time. Because of Daylight Saving Time in the rest of the United States, Puerto Rico is currently only three hours ahead. That was a failure on my part to double-check my Google research. Unfortunately, I only discovered that after the comic was uploaded.

AI Disclaimer

I discontinued using AI for covers and background scenery after Issue 277. I still use it to create logos and symbols simply because there are no non-AI logo creator programs (suggestions are welcome). Some previously used images have been kept for consistency (iconic buildings and “historic photographs”) with the intent of replacing them when possible. The “Ice-Hole” app by Fargin is a spoof of a real app (IceBlock). Carl’s warnings are real. I renamed it as an homage to the movie Johnny Dangerously.

It’s Iimi! I Have Always Been Carl Iscra.

Della and Paula discovered a British passport last week, which seems to have the picture of their father in it. Despite Iimi’s being unimpressed with the reasoning, Della continues to think this is something big. But with evidence that their father was once someone else, will Della believe it when her father says… I Have Always Been Carl Iscra.

Carl’s background was envisioned a long time ago. Issue 101 was the first “plot hook” I set up to build it. Issues 243 and 254 were others.
