It's Iimi! Veritas Calendario Non Regitur!

Ms. Celarent is back on her theory that history moves from bad to better and points to the wrong things from the past to prove her point. Iimi and her friends are skeptical, giving examples that question her theory and pointing out that truth can be neglected at a later age.

Pre-Comic Notes:

Veritas Calendario Non Regitur means "Truth is not governed by the calendar."

Sequere veritatem quocumque perducit means "Follow the truth wherever it leads."

Post-Comic Notes:

CS Lewis' Mere Christianity inspired some of Iimi's arguments (the Middle Ages and witchcraft, and a new morality). It's a book worth reading, especially as a comic can’t do justice to his presentation.

It's Iimi! Countermoves

In the UAE, Sumeja, Bahrudin, and even Nila and Zara plot. A secret from Sumeja’s past is revealed. When these intersect, how will they all respond with their…Countermoves

In case it's unclear from the comic, Nila speaks Urdu, Hindi, and Arabic but not English outside of a few simple words. She feigns broken Arabic in front of Nila and Bahrudin. Zara speaks English just fine but prefers to talk in her native Arabic. Sumeja and Bahrudin speak English by default.

It's Iimi! Set Up To Fail?!

Rick and Joella once again want to attack religion as foolish. But this time, their plan involves getting members of different religions to assist them? How will Iimi respond when they argue that God's plans meant humanity was… Set Up To Fail?!

Post-Comic Notes:

The cover is a segment of Expulsion from the Garden of Eden by Thomas Cole_(1828).

Nila is not an idiot when speaking English. She's a raw beginner. The quirks in her pronunciation are based on advice to English teachers of Urdu and Arabic speakers on where the native speakers of those languages find it the hardest to adjust (in this example, double consonants). The font was chosen to portray her awkwardness.

The prices and times of flights and airlines for March 4th were accurate as of the time of the scripting.

It should be noted that the permission Sumeja is seeking is not exclusive to the UAE. Most travel sites I've reviewed suggest this for all international travel with children as a precaution.

If you're wondering why Owen and Najiyah were selected for this comic, it was because Mormonism and Islam hold views about the Fall that contradict Christianity. Rick hoped that the combined weight of their testimony would help undermine Iimi.

Before atheists comment about the last panel, I'm quite aware that the ASSC is an atheist group, not a devil worshipping group.

It's Iimi! Secret Agendas?

As the girls prepare to return to school after Christmas Break, they encounter unexpected things. Is everything aboveboard? Or do the people they encounter have… Secret Agendas?

The bankruptcy letter being read at Mass happened recently in my own diocese.
