It's Iimi! The "It's Iimi!" Christmas Special!

In a story almost as good as the Star Wars Holiday Special, It's Christmas Eve, and the last-minute plans and travels are coming together. But are there plots and petty squabbles that can spoil the holy day? Find out in… The "It's Iimi!" Christmas Special!

Post-Comic Notes:

The REAL LIFE reason Vera Machen took continuing education and got a makeover was because her model was an old one that was never updated. So when the software updated (her model is from Clip Studio Paint, not Comipo,) her dress would no longer move with her legs. As a result, her legs would stick out from her dress when seated. I'll miss the facial expressions that the model could do. But it was unworkable.

The song playing on the stereo on page 16 is Smog by Los Dug Dug's (1973). (The punctuation is apparently intentional… and causes my spell checker to go nuts).

C.F.A Stands for Cat Fanciers Association. It's the cat equivalent of the AKC. But I didn't want to give away the show for Iimi's surprise.

For those readers with dirty minds wondering about the dark secret behind Sumeja's wartime trade, the answer is no. THAT crime carries a three-year sentence. So, get your mind out of the gutter!

The names Della, Kismetta, and Paula suggest are characters from Bone, Sailor Moon, and Azumanga Daioh, respectively. Carl's suggestion is a reference to a Hoyt Axton song.

"Muffin Hugger" is an homage to the Skottie Young comic I Hate Fairyland. One of the quirks is that a wizard (called the "Cenzard") has cast a spell that changes all profanity in Fairyland to harmless words. I leave it to you to work out what Iimi was about to say.

It's Iimi! Credo In Unum Deum!

Owen is at it again, trying to convince Kismetta to leave Catholicism for Mormonism. But when the rest of the girls show up, Owen asks whether they at least recognize Mormons as Christians. Iimi must explain the difference between LDS henotheism and the Christian profession… Credo In Unum Deum!

Pre-Comic Notes:

Credo in unum Deum means "I believe in one God."

The Church document issued on blessing people in irregular unions came out too late to be addressed in the upcoming comics. I expect to discuss it in the 1/8/2024 issue. But briefly, it is not what the secular media, the anti-Francis Catholics, and those trying to subvert the Church teachings have claimed.

Post-Comic Notes:

If you are surprised by Iimi saying she doesn't think Mormonism is Christian, remember the Vatican has ruled that Mormon baptisms are not valid. Saying "not Christian" is not a moral judgment. It is saying that Mormon beliefs on the nature of God are incompatible with Christian beliefs.

The terms used by Mellie and Owen are apparently common among Mormons. (Remember, they're not allowed to swear).

The Cover is A.I. I simply told NightCafé to create an image of a "council of gods." This is the only one that looked passable for a cover image.
